~ English description below ~

We buy organic, are vegan, prevent flights and save plastic. At the same time, UN Secretary General Gutteres says this year, “The new IPCC report is a bullet list of broken climate promises. It is a dossier of shame, cataloging the empty promises that put us firmly on the path to an uninhabitable world.” So for what to study and build a future in the first place? Are we really allowed to remain apolitical about it?

We know that “our house is on fire” at least since Greta Thunberg’s speech to the UN. But do we ourselves act accordingly and really try to prevent the worst? How do we react in view of the concrete plans of the German government to push ahead with the expansion of gas and oil projects, even though the International Energy Agency already made it clear last year that there must be no more new investments of this kind with immediate effect?

Our three guests do not look idly on, but act! And they are doing so in very different ways. They have come to tell you about how to get involved. In very different ways, they try to advocate for change, to change politics, society, their fellow human beings or institutions like their own university and to motivate them to act.

In short inputs you will learn about their commitment and afterwards you can exchange ideas and ask questions with them on eye level in a relaxed atmosphere. The cultural group will offer drinks at the bar at the same time. Afterwards, we will show the film “The Reluctant Radical” (English with subtitles) about the ex-Greenpeace employee Ken Ward and his commitment as a full-time climate activist and father.
