Right on the border between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria are the cities of Ulm and Neu-Ulm. Even though the two cities have grown closely together, each has its own infrastructure and identity. In this respect, there is a lot of potential to be found on both sides of the Danube in the form of various initiatives, universities, institutions for education, political commitment and culture!
So it’s not surprising that a group of people formed quite quickly for the Sustainability Weeks to try to contribute their own program of events both locally and on BaWü-level.

Nachhaltigkeitsreferat der Universität Ulm
The Sustainability Department has several areas of responsibility. We network university groups that deal with the topic of sustainability and offer a central platform for mutual exchange. We are also the point of contact when it comes to our core topic of sustainability.
Fridays for Future Ulm / Neu-Ulm
Fridays for Future also exists in Ulm and Neu-Ulm. Since January 2019, we have been demonstrating for climate justice and always offer various actions on the topic of sustainability: From discussion rounds to planting trees to collecting trash.
Hochschulgruppe für Nachhaltigkeit
The HSGN consists of students from almost all disciplines at the University of Ulm, but also alumni, academic staff and interested people who meet weekly and engage in the broad field of sustainability. Topics include sustainable nutrition, mobility and consumption.
The primary goal of Young and Queer’s work is to create awareness of queer issues among the general population. We aim to stimulate an open, socially-led dialogue to promote mutual tolerance, acceptance and appreciation.
A non-profit, Christian, internationally active non-governmental organization dedicated to the victims of the most serious human rights violations in developing and emerging countries.
The University of Ulm was founded in 1967 as the “Medical and Scientific University of Ulm” and is the youngest state university in Baden-Württemberg.
The Ulm University of Technology is a university of applied sciences in Ulm. With its 6 faculties, it houses 18 bachelor’s, 7 master’s and 10 dual degree programs.
